2835 Series Gear Pumps
When the going gets thick, this pump gets going. Count on it every time.
The 2835 Series offers sealing flexibility with its mechanical seal or lip seal, and packing is also available. This reliable external gear design includes quiet running helical gears, and an angled gear arrangement. The enlarged ports facilitate pumping, and low horsepower requirements allow the use of lower cost motors. The 2835 Series can handle pressures up to 75 PSI and capacities up to 11.3 GPM.
- Bearings are lubricated by the liquid being pumped
- Enlarged ports facilitate pumping
- Low horsepower requirements all use of low cost drivers
- Installation flexibility by eliminating the need for risers in direct-coupled applications
Standard Construction Materials
- Cast iron housings
- Hardened steel shafts
- Hardened steel gears
- Iron journal bearings
- Buna case O-Rings
- Graphite impregnated Teflon packing
Configuration Options
- Directly couples to standard electrical motor
- Integral Pressure Relief Valve
- May be driven by a gasoline engine
Typical Applications
- Designed for pumping viscous liquids
- Operates at standard motor speeds for viscous fluids up to 100,000 SSU
- Materials include: roofing compound, molasses, honey, and feed supplements
2835 Series
The 2835 Series was specially designed for pumping viscous liquids. This gear pump operates at standard motor speeds for viscosities of up to 100,000 SSU.
2835 Series Nomenclature
The figure number consists of a five, six, or seven digit number.
The first four digits indicate the pump series. The fifth digit indicates the type of shaft seal.
- L = Lip Seal
- M = Mechanical Seal
- P = Packing
Occasionally, special pumps or configurations are required which are unique for a particular application. These modifications are clarified by a SPECification number. Identification of any items different than a standard pump can be made by consulting Roper Pump Company or an authorized distributor.
The TYPE number is a number used by Roper Pump Company for in-house identification of construction. Always include the type number in any references to the pump.
- A = low pressure spring
- B = high pressure spring (standard)
The SERIAL number is a unique number assigned to each pump built by Roper Pump Company.
In any communication concerning this pump, always be sure to include the Figure, Spec, Serial, and Type numbers so proper identification of the pump can be assured.
Rebuild Kits
Major rebuild kits available for standard pumps. See distributor or manufacturer for more details.

Note: Maximum speed and flow can only be achievable under the correct inlet (suction) and liquid conditions. Liquid viscosity and discharge pressure, plus pumping conditions will determine actual flow (ie. – theoretical minus slip).
